TV coverage - 2007/11/08 20:33
Hey there fellow race fans.Been gone for a while.Didn't wear my seat belt and tore up my spine in a rollover.Do yourselves a favor BUCKLE UP!!!! At any rate,I just wanted to share my favorite things about ESPN's coverage. 1)They actually interrupt commercials to show the race every now and again.2)I've only been a hardcore fan since the 70's and until hearing Rusty talk about nothing but aero this and aero that I think I finally get it.3)The totally dry commentary during the race.Who wants to be entertained anyways?4)The viewers only miss the first 30 seconds of those uneventful restarts.5)The "Full Throttle" during restarts. What NASCAR lover wants to hear the thunder of 43 engines cranking out 800 horsepower? I prefer garbled meaningless radio chatter.6)Every once in a while they actually catch the beginning of an on track incident.7)The "Draft Track". Especially what Rusty calls "Draft Lock". It's almost as good as clay-mation. I expected nothing less from the "World Wide Leader in Sports". Anybody know how to tell NASCAR that ESPN sucks? I came close to changing the channel to other sports a few times! This can't happen next year. I could go on for about an hour but I think you got the point. Anybody out there agree or am I doing the Gordon whining thing? WildBill
