Harvick proves he's a jerk - 2007/08/13 02:25 I admit when JPM came into Nascar I didn't care for him.But he has proved time and time again that he is a great driver and I honestly feel some of the drivers like Harvick are intemidated by him, and don't show him the respect he deserves. Harvick was wrong today at the Glen and was such a jerk that he seen the tape and still didn't admit he was wrong. Harvick is on my don't like list.

Re:Harvick proves he's a jerk - 2007/08/13 07:39 Harvick was in worng of what he did to JPM. Even after he saw the tape he still said it was JPM's fault. He was at wrong for pointing the finger at JPM. JPM didnt do anything wrong. He was shoved by Trues and JPM couldnt do anything. JPM was in between a rock and a hard place in that situation.

Re:Harvick proves he's a jerk - 2007/08/13 15:56 I'm not gonna blame Harvick too much. I'd like to see an interview with him today. He was still really heated and angry when they stuck the microphone in his face. I think JPM was trying way too hard to block on the restart and it was just unfortunate that Harvick got piled up. It was great TV! I loved Rusty Wallace saying "Oh they're gonna fight I wanna watch this"

Re:Harvick proves he's a jerk - 2007/08/13 17:05 JPM cannot drive. I hate that bastard. He causes a wreck in every race becouse of his agressive driving.IT's ok at the right time but not all the time. I didnt realize how rough he drove untill i saw it with my own eyes at texas motor speedway. He needs to take his sorry ass back to open wheels.

Re:Harvick proves he's a jerk - 2007/08/13 19:25 I don't think I would call blocking as bad as he did on sunday aggressive driving I call it "stupid".He hasn't single handidly ruined the racing this year but he has played a really big part in it.

Re:Harvick proves he's a jerk - 2007/08/13 21:23 I personally think both played the sissy role when they decided to shove eachother around with their helmets on. Like Tony said, they were just wasting my time. Good tv yes, but it was more like pro wrestling in a sense, fake. not saying that they were faking anything at all but cmon, a real man woulda taken the helmet off if they were ready to throw down.

Re:Harvick proves he's a jerk - 2007/08/13 23:04 but if you take your helmet off and the other guy punches you in the face then people say you are stupid it's a no win situation.

Re:Harvick proves he's a jerk - 2007/08/14 00:08 Personally I've come to kinda respect JPM. He's brought something new to NASCAR and will be a great racer in a couple of years. Look at Jeff Gordons rookie year. He crashed almost as much as he finished a race. Gordon was predicted to be a flop, now he's one of the best all time. Also, I don't blame Harvick. JPM said in an interview, "we were slow on restarts so I went down to block the #1". If you ask me thats admiting fault right there. JPM block because he was too slow, Truex bumped him because he was faster. It's a road course, sometimes blocking isn't the best way to stay in position.

Re:Harvick proves he's a jerk - 2007/08/14 07:37 But Gdawg, JPM has causeda wreck in every race so far or has been involved in one. Its getting old with this. If you are a slow car why are you blocking? I can understand that you are a slow car and should know that you are trying to keep a faster car behind but. I thought it was still Harvick's fault for still admitting it was JPM's fault for the crash when he was pushed into. Irs Harvicks fault not JPM and getting annoyed by JPM in getting involved in wrecks all the time whter it was caused by him or not.

Re:Harvick proves he's a jerk - 2007/08/14 07:56 Every race huh? I pretty sure he didn't get invovled in an accident at Indy. Anyways, are you sure you read my last post correctly diehard. You make it sound as if I committed some mortal sin. I said "I don't blame Harvick" so obviously I said it WAS JPM fault. The point I bring is this, as I stated before, JPM will be good, if not great in a few years. And again, look at J. Gordon's first season. Was somehow involved in an accident in ALMOST every race, was considered a flop, and is now one of the greatest ever. Also, I don't see why nobody likes JPM anyway. So he's from a different country. Did anyone mention the fact to you that he is not the first person from a different country to race in NASCAR, let alone, win a race. Mario Andretti won the Daytona 500. If I'm not mistaken, he's from Italy or somewhere. Honestly, get over it, he's gonna race, there's nothing we can do about it, get over it.....

Just a fore thought, didn't JPM have possiblly the worst handling car out there that day. If trying to control an out of control car at 190 mph on an oval track, I think I would try to be a little aggressive with it too. He hasn't been like that EVERY race.

He's leading the rookie of the year standings, has a win and a second place at Indy. He has what it takes, he just needs to refine his style. As for the flip flopping thing, I'm officially a SMOKE fan so ya better get used to it.

Yes I read your post correctly. But all Im saying is that its getting annoying seeing this. You would think a driver of his caliber and the expierence he had he wouldnt be involved in crashes this much.

ROOKIE!!!!!!!! David Ragan crashes alot too, you gonna bash him. Regan Smith has been involved in an accident in every race he's been this year... Do I need to go on?

If he does, it will be hard to swallow but I will try to make do with it. Nothings been "set in stone" yet about the Gibbs Toyota issue. It's just a rumor for now. We will see in approx 4 to 6 weeks if it's true.

Re:Harvick proves he's a jerk - 2007/08/14 12:20 Yes please!!!!There is no way those 2 are involved in crashes as much as JPM is. I wish they had a stat that calculated how many crashes a driver has been involved in that way we could settle this...what I am also trying to say is the times that JPM has been involved in them seem to come in criticals times of a race and Sun. was one of them and why was JPM bloacking a car that was faster than him off the re-start? I still havent figured that out yet..

Re:Harvick proves he's a jerk - 2007/08/14 14:26 If he was in accidents as much as you say, and as awful as you say, how then is he leading the rookie of the year standings and is 19th in points?

Re:Harvick proves he's a jerk - 2007/08/14 18:54 JPM did admit that his car had a very tall 1st gear and he was slow on restarts

Re:Harvick proves he's a jerk - 2007/08/14 21:43 Think about this though, JPM comes into a racing series after being successful worldwide in another series. You better believe he's gonna be agressive as hell trying to prove to the world he didn't make a mistake and gain respect and win races. Unfortunately the respect is not really there with the drivers right now. I think he'll realize, maybe not this year, but soon that he's burning bridges that you can't do in this sport. I also think a lot of the drivers are still the good old boys that don't want someone from foreign ethnicities racing with them full time. It sounds harsh, but as fired up as Harvick was I'm sure there was probably some ethnic slurs in there when they were arguing.
