Re:HOW HAS HE KEPT IT??? - 2007/08/01 23:49 Its just like everything else in this world... Its not what you know, or what you are capable of... Its who you know, and what their pulls are....

Thats just my guess... I'm still fairly new to Nascar! But with your statistics.. I'd say I'm probably pretty damn close to right!

Re:HOW HAS HE KEPT IT??? - 2007/08/02 01:42 Schrader hasn't kept the same ride for 20 years. There's always at least one job opening for a driver every year. Kyle Petty is just good people. He does alot for children thru VICTORY JUNCTION GANG CAMP which brings in good sponsors, and everybody knows you keep your sponsor you keep your ride.

Re:HOW HAS HE KEPT IT??? - 2007/08/02 07:15 Kyle Petty also has his daddys team in his corner.

Re:HOW HAS HE KEPT IT??? - 2007/08/02 19:40 I agree Kyle Petty is a great person, but he needs to retire from racing and focus on the Gang Camp.Ken schrader needs to retire also.I believe if you can't perform you need to be kicked out of the car and have somone who can perform put in the car.Them two aren't the only one's Kenny Wallace don't deserve a ride either. These driver's are all good people but they make to much money to be out there riding around and not performing. It's no different than a Plumber, carpenter or a waitress when they don't do there job they get fired.

Re:HOW HAS HE KEPT IT??? - 2007/08/02 20:46 Yea but what happens when you got 43 out there that think they can get a top 5.you got crashfest 2008 everyweek

Re:HOW HAS HE KEPT IT??? - 2007/08/02 20:51 and just like a plumber, carpenter, and a waitress theres always another company to work for just like drivers theres always a car owner somewhere to drive for

Re:HOW HAS HE KEPT IT??? - 2007/08/02 21:51 DAMN, Honcho what do you think racing's about? It's about 43 drivers that think they can win a race and go head to head.I'm not one of them fans that go for the drive for 5 crap. When my drver #8 gets on the track I want to know that he is going to give his all to win the race.Sounds to me like you want the other drivers to pull over and wave your driver by.

Re:HOW HAS HE KEPT IT??? - 2007/08/02 22:39 now you know not all 43 are out there for the win. Some are out there just for the paycheck.and fordman one question how do you come up with the name fordman17 21 38 and your driver is the #8 and drives a chevy???

Re:HOW HAS HE KEPT IT??? - 2007/08/02 23:59 KENNY BLEEPING SCHRADER WILL ONLY BE KNOWN FOR TAPPING THE 3 CAR'S RIGHT REAR QUARTER PANEL, AND SENDING DALE SR. INTO THE WALL AT DAYTONA IN 2001,AND WE ALL KNOW WHAT HAPPENED NEXT.....DID THEY CHANGE THE NUMBER ON THAT 36 M&M'S CAR WHEN SCHRADER WAS DRIVING IT, TO 38 SO PEOPLE WOULD FORGET??

Re:HOW HAS HE KEPT IT??? - 2007/08/03 00:30 I thought that was Sterling Marlin that did the tap.

Re:HOW HAS HE KEPT IT??? - 2007/08/03 00:30 Ummmmm..... Stewart 20, that wasn't Schrader who "tapped" Sr into the wall. Trust me on this. I happen to recall it was Sterling in the #40 who got together with Sr trying to make the pass. I know this because I was and always will be a long time Sterling fan and I caught alot of hell for who I liked because of it. Anyways, now I'm a Smoke fan since Marlin no longer has a ride and wants to only race a limited schedule.

Re:HOW HAS HE KEPT IT??? - 2007/08/03 02:13 speakin of drivers who need to basically get out of the sport, how about dumb ol ricky rudd, the dumb fag left for a year and then he comes back lets face it he cant win and all he wants to do is block and a few other names such as martin, jarrett, waltrip, green, wallace, and of course kyle petty all these guys need to retire because they just cant win anymore and besides all these rookies are comin up all the time and provin to those guys they can win and oh by the way someone forgot to tell robert yates his time in the sport is over with so please yates do us all a favor and get out and take gilliland and fudd with you

Re:HOW HAS HE KEPT IT??? - 2007/08/03 03:39 isn't Gilliland supposed to be one of those up and coming proven winning rookies????????

Re:HOW HAS HE KEPT IT??? - 2007/08/03 07:19 All gilliland has proven this year is that he qualifies well on super speedways..... Other than that, he can't race.

I agree with you on this. Also with Wallace he should just worry about doign his tv spot on Speed Cahnnel than driving. Than Petty can just worry about his tv spot and the Victory Junction Gang. Schrader just needs to retire.

Can't race?!?!? This may be true but talk about keeping Elliot Sadler's "wipeout a la Dega" tradition alive. Maybe it's the #38...prolly not

Re:HOW HAS HE KEPT IT??? - 2007/08/03 17:17 Hey johnsonfan48, I noticed you put Mark Martin on that list you should be ashamed of yourself. That man is a heck of a race car driver, and when he's got a good car pretty boy johnson better get ready to be passed.

I didn't even notice that. johnsonfan48, Martin has been the only other driver as consistant as, I hate to say this, gordon. When martin is racing he is always near the front, not like JJ has been for the past how many races. I agree that many drivers should retire, but Martin right now, is acting like he's one of those 20-something year old drivers and needs to stay that way.

I agree with both of you guys. I didnt even see it. But I cant believe Johnsonfan48, that you threw his name in there. That is just wrong. When he is on noone can stop him. He is as good as anybody when he has a good day and very rarely see him have a bad race. So shame on you man.

Re:HOW HAS HE KEPT IT??? - 2007/08/04 02:25 ok ok im sorry i shouldnt have thrown martins name in there , granted he does run good but those other drivers need to go ahead and just retire and allow some of the owners to start taking a look at the busch series drivers, once again yall sorry bout throwin martin in there, yall are right he does run good every week , so how about montoya? he finished 2nd at indy if there had been a few more laps we might have seen him get his 2nd win, i look for him to win that race next year , i know not many of us like him but ya gotta admit the guy has got talent and he is improving with each race, i hope yall will forgive me anyways thats all from me for now on this subject

Re:HOW HAS HE KEPT IT??? - 2007/08/04 05:26 it seems like to me Jimmy Johnson hasn't run well since the announcement that JR.was going to run for HENDRICK.Not trying to bash anybody but just wondering if anybody else has noticed it or is it just me

Re:HOW HAS HE KEPT IT??? - 2007/08/04 07:10 Seems to me Johnson hasn't been doing too well since Tony has started winning. It might be one of the balances the universe maintains..

I'm with ya'll on the Martin deal. Old boy should have a championship already but I'm not going to go down that road. I'm continually impressed by Mark. Kyle Petty hasn't been thought of as a contender since day two of his career. He is vital to NASCAR and it's public relations blitz though. You can't lose with a guy like that. He does so much for the kids and if he does somehow find his car crossing the line in the top 10 the crowd goes wild. As far as Schrader goes, I haven't a clue. Perfaps it more of the "past and future" marketing plan NASCAR fosters. I can't say I don't like him but the odds of the guy winning are slim to none.

You are not the only one. I have noticed it. But its racing and you see drivers go through their ups and downs. But its Jimmie and see him coming out of it and finish well this weekend.
