Re:Free the 8 - 2007/06/27 07:38 i'm not sure what will become of the #8 or the #5 for that matter but i do know that Jr wants to keep using the 8 but he may he end up using 5, then again i'm not really sure i'm just wondering like the rest of us what his number will be and who will be his sponsor, i would think its Sony since he got a deal worked out with them but really am just guessing, anyways looking forward to seeing the next batch of comments on this subject

Re:Free the 8 - 2007/07/23 11:12 Here are all the rumors I've heard. He wants the #8. NAscar soley owns the numbers not hte teams so it can't be bought. The #5 is also another obvious one but I have also heard #81, his busch series number. Now main sponser rumors have been, Sony Electronics, Adidas(both very plausable due to signed deals) and Mt. Dew, also a good chance being that HMS has a contract with the Pepsi Corporation. Now reality sets in with the numbers. Teresa Earnhardt will re-registar for the #8 so Jr. can't have it. Thats the way she is, has been and always will be. She's a witch. The #81, won't happen. Logically why would he want to carry his Busch Series number to the NNCS. The #5 is a smarter choice. Not for Jr. or his fans, but for HMS. It has been a team number for decades. It is a championship winning number for HMS. I really don't think Rick wants to get rid of it but he wants to keep his new superstar member happy. Thats my thought on why the 8 won't be freed.

Plus if Im not mistaken I think one or both of these numbers are with DEI. Correct me if Im wrong. And I think everybody knows that Teresa will NOT give up the 8 cuzt thats how she is(that witch). Unless some magical thing happens that some how he ends up with the 8 would be great. But thats a long shot. So the 5 sounds the best logical reason. As for a sponsor it wont matter me any who he takes. But out of those three I will be fine with. Cuz whoever he takes he is going to be getting a very good marketing driver.
